At Playtech, we are not only advancing in technology and sustainability; we are also fostering a community where the people who drive our success are at the heart of everything we do. Recently, our local operations in Estonia transitioned from a traditional office setup to a state-of-the-art data centre, through our partnership with Greenergy Data Centres (GDC).
Our new facility in Tallinn, certified to EN 50600 standards, is powered by renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydro power. This transition not only enhances our operational efficiency but also aligns with our environmental goals.
But what truly sets Playtech apart is our people. Our team in Estonia, and across the globe, is driven by a shared vision of excellence and sustainability. And our CIO, Gal Shapira, highlights the importance of this partnership: “GDC’s local presence and expertise will be crucial in enhancing our operational efficiencies and system reliability in Estonia. This partnership supports our long-term goal of operating and growing our business more sustainably.”
Our culture of innovation and responsibility is reflected in every aspect of our work. Tõnu Grünberg, CEO of Greenergy Data Centres, praises this approach: “Our partnership with Playtech is a prime example of how innovation can benefit both the environment and business. Playtech is making great strides towards its sustainability goals, setting high standards in the tech industry.”
As part of announcing this partnership, Oliver Urb, Infrastructure Planning and Design Manager based in the Estonia Office conducted a practical seminar at the Tallinn Botanical Garden. He presented to various governmental and large IT companies in Estonia. Following the presentation, there was an open question forum where Risto Arik, Infrastructure Architect from Playtech, joined to address different technical and environmental challenges faced by Playtech locally and globally. The seminar received very warm feedback from the public and GE.
The Playtech Estonia team was also invited to give a lecture at Tallinn Technical University to share practical experiences with master’s degree students.
